Terms of Service
Last Updated: June 6, 2026
Agreement to these terms
These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) form a binding agreement between you and Compare Legal Software (“we,” “us,” “our”) regarding your use of comparelegalsoftware.com and the quote-comparison service offered on the site (together, the “Service”). By accessing the Service, submitting our form, or otherwise interacting with the site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please stop using the Service.
What we do
Compare Legal Software is a free matching service for U.S. law firms. We collect basic information about your firm and route your request to a small number of vetted legal software vendors so you can compare proposals without sitting through a long string of sales calls. We are not a vendor of legal software, we are not a law firm, and we do not provide legal advice.
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and authorized to request software information on behalf of your firm. The Service is intended for U.S.-based law firms and the people who help them choose software. If you are submitting a form, you confirm that the contact details you provide are accurate and that you have permission to share them.
Your submission and consent to be contacted
When you submit our comparison form, you authorize Compare Legal Software and the vendor partners you have selected to contact you by email, phone (including pre-recorded and autodialed calls), and SMS at the contact information you provided. Consent to be contacted is not a condition of any purchase. You can opt out at any time as described in our Privacy Policy.
You agree not to submit information about another person without their permission, and not to submit false or misleading information.
Vendor introductions are not endorsements
We pre-screen the vendors in our network, but a match is an introduction, not a recommendation. We do not guarantee any particular outcome, price, contract term, feature set, support quality, or fit for your firm. Any agreement you sign with a vendor is solely between you and that vendor, and that vendor’s own terms and privacy policy govern that relationship.
No legal advice
Content on this site, including articles in our Resources section, is provided for general information only. It is not legal advice and does not create an attorney-client relationship. Consult qualified counsel before making decisions that affect your firm or clients.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service to violate any law or the rights of any third party.
- Submit content that is false, misleading, infringing, or harmful.
- Attempt to access, scrape, reverse engineer, or interfere with the Service or its underlying systems.
- Use automated tools to submit forms, harvest data, or send unsolicited communications.
- Resell or repurpose any part of the Service without our written consent.
We may suspend or terminate access for any user who, in our reasonable judgment, has violated these Terms.
Intellectual property
The site, including its text, graphics, logos, layout, articles, and underlying code, is owned by Compare Legal Software or its licensors and is protected by U.S. and international intellectual property laws. You may view and share our public pages for personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, republish, or create derivative works without our written permission.
Third-party sites and content
The Service may link to vendor websites and other third-party resources. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, accuracy, or practices. Following a link is at your own risk.
Disclaimers
The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any specific vendor will respond, quote, or perform as you expect.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Compare Legal Software and its officers, employees, and partners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunity, arising out of or related to the Service or these Terms, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total liability for any claim arising out of or related to the Service will not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars (USD $100).
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Compare Legal Software and its officers, employees, and partners from any claim, loss, liability, or expense (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your use of the Service, your submissions, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
Governing law and dispute resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. You and Compare Legal Software agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Hamilton County, Ohio, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.
Changes to the Service or these Terms
We may modify the Service at any time, and we may update these Terms from time to time. When we update the Terms, we will change the “Last Updated” date at the top of the page. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
